E si va in frescura sulle colline appena fuori Imola alla Fattoria Tremonti tra le verdi vigne in una delle più famose aziende vinicole della regione.
An ancient Roman colony, the plan of the city still shows the typical Roman plan of foundation. A very famous plan of Imola was drawn by Leonardo da Vinci, the only example of topographical work by the great artist.
An elegant city, full of churches and aristocratic houses where the centre is dominated by the massive construction of the Rocca Sforzesca.In Imola one will visit the fine courtyard of Palazzo Tozzoni, once home of an ancient family, rebuilt between 1726 and 1738 by Alfonso Torreggiani and Domenico Trifogli. The Large Courtyard of the Rocca Sforzesca, a splendid example of fortified architecture between medieval times and the Renaissance.
The Festival will take us to the Chiesa di San Domenico, dating from 1280, with its wonderful terracotta portal of 1340, the work of Iacopo da Cereto, and its splendid rose window.
It will also take us to the cool of the hills just outside Imola, to the Fattoria Tremonti, situated in the green of one of the most famous vineyards of the region.
